When I learned of Bob's passing some years ago I felt so sad but felt due to it being a lifetime since we last spoke thought better of relating my thoughts. Seeing Kevin of Nolan painting Bob came to mind again as I wondered if he is Bob's son.?? In any case I wanted to extend my sympathies to all the Nolan's for loss,of now, both their parents. I only knew Bob. We met when we were in our early teens. His family lived in Beechwood Park as did my aunt and uncle who I stayed with every summer. He and I palled around with my cousins and a group of friends we were all
a part of. It was a very small community and our activities were very low key. We swam in the creek, walked Mount Rd to the little store just before Aston Hill rd to get frozen Milky way bars
A big highlight was going to village green pool or to the auction on Friday night in back of my uncle's truck
We had good clean fun except when we climbed up Aston Hill and borrowed? Apples from the Convent's field. These are happy memories for me and I hope for Bob too, of a simpler time to be savored
The last time I saw Bob we drove.to a shallow area.of the creek where Bob used the clear water to wash his car
After that day we gradually lost touch each moving forward in our emerging new lives. I have never forgotten those youthful times that Bob, my cousins and our friends enjoyed together. I was happy to hear.he went on to have.the good life had. He is sorely missed I am sure but you all must have wonderful memories to sustain you. I am happy to have shared a brief part of our lives.. Most sincerely, Gail
