Mabel Niblett Obituary
Laurel, DE - Mabel Jane Niblett, age 85, died Wednesday August 1, 2018 at her home. Born in Powellville, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Davis and Alice Olivia Moore Davis. She is survived by her children, Jack Downey and his wife Donna of Laurel, DE, Sandra Downey of Delmar, DE, Alice Winkler and her husband Victor of Laurel, DE, Tina Niblett of Seaford, DE, and Denise Niblett of Magnolia, DE. There is one granddaughter, Brooke Romanko and two great-grandchildren, Noah Townsend and Andrew Romanko, and a special niece Eizabeth Ann Cordrey of Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Ronnie Dryden and Michael Kellam, and siblings, Guy, Dale, Pete, Edna, Elizabeth, Mildred, Louise, and Hilda.
Mrs. Niblett had worked as a poultry grower for Perdue Farms. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, and former member of the Order of Eastern Star, both in Laurel, DE. She loved her Chihuahua, cookbooks, and cooking.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 4th at 11:00 AM in Pittsville Cemetery, Pittsville, MD. Her nephew Johnny Malcom will be the celebrant. A donation in her memory may be made to the SPCA, 455 Stanton Christiana Rd. Newark, DE 19713, or St. Paul's Methodist Church. 32827 Old Stage Rd. She was one of a kind. My mother, her cousin Betty, and her stayed closed and in constant contact throughout the years. I have many memories of them on the phone sharing the local gossip. My mom will, and already does, miss her greatly. You have our deepest condolences. We will miss her.
