Michael John Strunk

Age 61

Passed away peacefully on July 19, 2021, age the age of 61, in Richmond, Virginia, due to complications of dementia. He was born on December 28, 1959, in Washington, D.C. to Dorothy Ramona (Kelly) Strunk of Alexandria, VA and the late Marvin Alan Strunk (deceased).

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three children, Michael Alan Strunk and Kay Strunk of Philadelphia, PA and Olivia Strunk of DE, and three sisters, Kimie Lloyd of Fairfax, VA, Cathy Bartholomew of Alexandria, VA, and Connie Martinez of Cleveland, GA, and several nieces and nephews.

Michael was raised in Alexandria. He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School and T.C. Williams High School. After graduation, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Navy and retired with twenty years of service. He then worked for the Delaware Department of Transportation. Michael enjoyed traveling, was an avid Washington Redskins fan and cherished his beloved dog, Homer.

Viewing will be held on August 13, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Everly-Wheatley, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1427 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA 22302. Burial immediately following services at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032.
