Carl Masters Obituary
Charlotte: November 2, 2009. Age 87. Predeceased by parents, George & Fannie. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Angie; sons, Tom (Mary) Masters, Carl (Terri) Masters; daughter, Eileen (Chris) Dorn; grandchildren, Gina, Melissa, Katherine, Carla, Elisa, Mike; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Madison, Oliver, Sammy; brothers, Ralph & Ronald Masters; sister, Phyllis Grape; many dear relatives and friends. Carl was a WWII Navy Veteran and former owner of Master's Deli for 35 years.
A special thanks to the nursing staff at Unity Hosp units 2200 & 2400.
Family and friends may call at Thomas Wednesday 4-8pm. Funeral Mass Thursday 11am Holy Cross Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cem. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Holy Cross.

I talk about Carl very often. We were good friends in the 1980's and early 1990's, when we worked together at the U of R Parking Office. He was a great guy, and I learned a lot from him, and still laugh when I think of him calling me "Fearless", a nickname I somehow earned from him! I remember visiting his home on Stutson St. during the holidays, when we were both on vacation between Christmas and New Year's. He loved showing off that beautiful home, and then we would watch western mini-series (1 year it was "The Sacketts"), and sample different selections from his well-appointed bar! I met his wife Angie a few times over the years, and Carl would rave about her sauce...and how she supplied a couple restaurants with it! He was proud of his children, and talk about them all the time, although I don't believe I ever met any of them... He lives on in my life, and I will always remember him telling me "Remember this, Fearless - it only costs a dime more to go first class!" God Bless him and his family!

I am so sorry to hear about Carl. He was such a wonderful person and the memories of him will live on in the hearts of many in Charlotte. May God hold him in the palm of His hand and may your faith carry you through the loss of Carl.
