My heart is filled with incredible sadness. All my sympathy and prayers to you, the Klem family. Carol was more than one in a million. I met her several years ago when I worked for the Webster Post as a freelance writer, and I loved her immediately. She was warm and generous, funny and witty, enthusiastic and caring. She knew everyone and about everything in Webster. In more recent years, Carol and I would run into each other at Wegmans. The moment I saw her with her incredible smile and that twinkle in her eyes, I couldn't help but smile, too. We would chat about the latest, clogging up the aisle for more than a few minutes. And, when we said goodbye, I knew my day had just gotten that much better because I was blessed to have Carol in it. Her spirit and her light were very bright here on this earth. I will miss her very much.

It was nice to see Greg and Eileen today ... for those family members I missed greeting, particularly Gene, please accept my condolences and prayers. I worked with Carol many years ago while covering sports with the Webster Post and always just loved chatting with her ... one of friendliest, most engaging people I ever knew. I reconnected with her at a staff reunion in December, for the first time in many years, and she still exuded every ounce of that great energy and enthusiasm. A true and timeless friend to myself and many others!

My mom worked with Carol and she taught her a few tricks such as I love you most whispered in my and my sisters ears- and to this day- whoever sees the moon first says I see the moon, the moon sees me, God bless the moon, and God bless me.
We also miss the finger tree that used to be on the corner near Wegmans. She was a fun sweet lady and she will be missed. My deepest sympathy.

Carol was truly Webster's courier. With her style of wit and sincerity, she shared with us the news of our neighbors, friends and families - from birth announcements to obituaries and all the milestones in between!
She was well suited as Webster's ambassador, always there to introduce new businesses and to promote community fundraisers. It was so fitting of the Village to recognize her recently with a proclamation on Carol Klem Day, her writings meant so much to so many.
I'll so miss her laugh and friendship My condolences to Gene and all her family, she especially loved talking about all of you!

To the Klem Family,
I knew Carol from Wegmans and also enjoyed our "visits" when we would talk. Her wit was exceptional as was her smile. She is in heaven and already has everyone laughing!
May she rest in peace and the family hold onto their wonderful memories of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Fondly,
Janice Barnum

My heart is breaking this evening as I just learned of the passing of Carol Klem. It's hard to even imagine that she's gone. She was a wonderful woman and I honestly cannot remember ever seeing her without a big smile on her face.
For many years, I had to distinct privilege of working for Gene and Tom at Klem's garage. Their whole family treated me so wonderfully well through the years I was there. I have such fond memories of seeing Carol come down the driveway and seeing Gene's eyes light up as he yelled heya toots! Their love was such an inspiration to me.
Of course, working with Tom and Michele, I got to know them very well and I loved watching Josh and Patrick grow up and develop into such awesome young men. I have wonderful memories of friendly chats with many of the Klem family; Greg and Doug were regular visitors to the garage and I spoke with Meg many times as well. And I particularly enjoyed periodic visits from Carol's brothers Carl and the ever-delightful Uncle Bob!
It's been several years since I moved away from Webster and my return visits have been pitifully few. On several of those visits though, I've stopped in to Klem's to say hello to whoever is around. I am terribly sorry that I cannot return to New York in time to pay my respects to a lovely woman who has always held a very special place in my heart.
To Gene and the rest of the amazing Klem family, I love you all dearly and I pray the Lord surrounds you with His healing power of love and grace. You are all such special people and you're living proof that Carol Klem was an incredible force for good in this world. She will be deeply missed.

I worked with Carol at the Webster Post back in the day. I really enjoyed hearing the stories about her family and her friends and all the shenannigans she'd get into. She would let my toddler Phoebe sit on her lap and type on her typewriter when she visited us. We would laugh on a daily basis and I miss that. I loved running into her in town and catching up and seeing that huge grin and getting those warm hugs. MY heart aches for you all and this world got a little dimmer without her in it - But Heaven is brighter and dancing with joy at such a gift. Bless you all and my deepest sympathy. She will be so very missed.

Doug,
I never met your Mom, but feel I know her from the stories about her you have shared. Rachel's and my thoughts and prayers go out to you, Christine and all of your family. I'm sure her passing has left a void in your life, but I'm confident she's feeling the joy of being in the company of our Heavenly Father.

My sympathy to Gene and all the Klem Family. May Carol enjoy the presence of God in the special place she earned.! We certainly enjoyed each other's company these almost 50 years. We specialized on the" funniest things happen in church" stories. The one I remember : a lady was following her husband up the main aisle of HT and while waving to a friend, her husband genuflected and she went head over tea cup in the aisle. Carol could not control laughter and had to leave at communion and walk home.
You will be missed and our reunion in glory will be looked forward to! Fr. Bill Michatek Retired Pastor of HT (2011)

My deepest sympathy to the Klem family on the passing of Carol. It breaks my heart to be so far away and not able to be there to help give my very special friend the proper sendoff she deserves. The world seems a bit darker in the past few days. Carol had an amazing gift of spreading her optimism, enthusiasm and humor wherever she went! Her love for Webster, her family, her faith and her friends was so admirable. And of course, there are few who have her amazing talent for writing heartwarming obituaries or entertaining columns! She has been and will continue to be my idol and my role model! She lived life to the fullest and I hope to follow that mantra with the same exuberance that she did!

I had the privilege of calling Carol my neighbor for the past 21 years. My wife and I could not have asked for better neighbors than Carol and Gene. Carol has known my wife's family for decades and new my wife when she was just a child and always treated us like family. Although Carol had a "team" of grandchildren of her own; she always treated our three boys like they were her own grand kids. We will always miss her generosity and kindness and most certainly her laugh. There is big whole in our hearts. Our families lives are certainly much better for having had Carol in it. You will be dearly missed.

Carol and I go back to 1958 when we dated for a few months. Our lives went in different directions, and we became new old friends in 2008. Carol fulfilled her desires to teach school, write and love her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a great cook, wonderful homemaker to Gene and all of her children, humorist when it came to writing for the Webster Post and Webster Herald. She will be missed tremendously by her family, and her many frends.

Carol and I go back to when we dated for a few months in 1958. Our lives took different directions, and she fulfilled her plans to teach school and write, and stay in Webster. We met again in 2008, and have been new friends since then. I am so heavy of heart to hear this news. As Webster local journalists, Carol and I shared a special bond. We laughed together over tea and scones at Barry's, gossiped over coffee and cinnamon rolls at Golden Boys. She had an infectious love for our village and the people who live here.
My life is so much better for having known her, and there will forever be a hole in the fabric of our community with her loss.
She's probably already started a "News From Cloud 3" newsletter up in Heaven.
