Geraldine Bulger Obituary
(nee Gahwe)
Rochester: Born in Buffalo, NY on November 24, 1915, Jerry went home to the Lord's arms on November 5, 2014. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Adelia (Della) Gahwe; husbands, Paul R. Popp, Jr. and George A. Bulger; and beloved companion of later years, Erling A. Dalaker.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn (John) Weider of Rochester, NY and Virginia Cologgi of Buffalo, NY; adored grandchildren, Sean (Ana Harris) Weider of NYC, Rachel (Gray) Taylor of Georgetown, TX, Meredith (Michael) McDonnell of Kingston, Ontario, Arthur and Matthew Cologgi of Buffalo, NY; great-grandchildren, Devin and Noah Saenger, Emily, Madeleine and Sloane McDonnell; step-great-grandchildren, Weston, Savannah and Delaney Taylor.
Jerry was a proud Buffalonian of German-American heritage and a graduate of Fosdick Masten Park High School, where she was a member of Beata Literary Honor Society. She subsequently attended UB for two years, thereafter completing her business degree at Bryant and Stratton College.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 15, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 150 Varinna Dr., Brighton, 14618. Family and friends will be greeted at church starting at 10 AM, followed by Mass at 11 AM. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Salvation Army, 70 Liberty Pole Way, P.O. Box 41210, Rochester, NY 14604; Literacy Volunteers of America, 1600 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620; or to the Music Ministry of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
