Dear Barbara & family,
I just found this site & not sure if you will see this. But Barbara, I share the sentiments of so many, though I like to think I had a special conversant relationship with Bob, but maybe that's too presumptive. He apparently has touched the lives of many & all rememberer him in glowing descriptions.

Dear Joanne,
Please accept my condolences for the loss of your dad, and please extend them to your mom and family. I remember your dad so well from our St. Louis days, and he was always so kind to me , and really to all of his young daughter's friends (allowing us girl scouts to camp in your backyard???). Not too long ago I saw your Mom and Dad at St. Louis and we stopped to chat-so nice. I will miss seeing him in the pews. My mom passed very recently and I know how much the Blake family imprinted her days at St. Louis; on her behalf as well I send wishes to your mom, her good friend. I will be thinking of you and your family, as you begin this journey.-Suzy Nealon Schilling

To the Blake family,
I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I enjoyed spending time with him on the beach at Lago Mar. I always new my day would be OK when I saw him on his way to get his chair under the palms. If there is anything I can do, please ask.
With sympathy,

Dear Barb,
My wife Ann and I are saddened by losing Bob, a truly kind soul.
I first met Bob a couple of years ago on the beach at the Lago Mar where he, Don and I would discuss books, politics and life in general--usually towards the end of a quiet winter's day.
I will miss those talks and will always remember him as a gentle man who dearly loved his big family and enjoyed collecting ocean glass swept to the shore.
No words can ease your loss, but know that we too will miss him.

Dear Blake family,
We were so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We talked with him this winter down on the rocks on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale. He would walk down from Lago-Mar and leave a small rock on the jetty to let us know he had been there. Johnny knew Bob for several years; I was fortunate enough to meet him last year. What a wonderful, brilliant, kind man! Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
