Wayne Arthurton Obituary
Webster: February 14, 2009. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Mildred Arthurton; brother, Leslie Edward Arthurton, and sister Mary Arthurton. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; sons, Wayne A. and Ryan T. Arthurton; sister, Marsha MacWilliams; brothers, Kenneth George (Diane) Arthurton, Alan James Arthurton; sister-in-law, Jean Arthurton; nieces and nephews. Wayne was a counselor with the Greece Central Schools. After retirement, he was a tutor with Webster Schools and BOCES I. Wayne was a Deacon and active member of Twelve Corners Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends Friday, 4-7 PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). Friends are invited to bring a written memory or photo of Wayne for the family's memory book. Interment will be private. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM at Twelve Corners Presbyterian Church, 1200 S. Winton Rd., Rochester 14618. Donations in memory of Wayne may be directed to Pines of Peace, 2738 Ridge Rd., Ontario NY 14519 or Twelve Corners Presbyterian Church. To light a candle in memory visit www.anthonychapels.com .

I will always remember Mr. Arthurton's friendly smile and welcoming words as he helped me through my high school years and on to the university of my choice. He was a wonderful counselor and mentor. May your family be comforted during the difficult time.

I was a student in Olympia's Class of 1989. I kept in touch with Mr. Arthurton after I graduated because I decided to pursue a career in school counseling, and shadowed him for a few weeks as I was making my final decision. He was very supportive of me as I worked my way through grad school. My favorite memory of him was running into him at a school counselor workshop while I was a graduate intern. I was nervous, but he was so excited to see me that he picked me up off the ground and twirled me in a circle! That certainly helped me to feel welcome. My condolences to his family -- he influenced my life in a very positive way.

I was a student at Olympia and graduated in 1985. Mr. Arthurton was the best counselor; very supportive. I am sorry for your loss and he will be missed.

I worked with Wayne in the Greece Schools for 21 years and he helped me buy my first house. He, my husband and I stayed in touch even after we moved to China and finally retired to Florida. He was known for his kindness and supportive nature and was great friend to everyone who knew him. We will all miss him!

Wayne was a coworker at Hoover Drive and Olympia. He also sold us our home 29 years ago. As we ran into each other over the years he always had a smile and hug to give.

Some of my fondest memories after arriving in the US in 1951 were the times spent with my cousins in Palmyra. Wayne and I stayed in touch after my Mum's passing and shared great memories of those wonderful days around the dining table in Uncle Ken's and Aunt Mildred's home.
