Our Uncle Carl was a true American Hero. Defending our freedom in WWII to a very successful career in the Air Force. Okinawa will always have a special place in our hearts. Can still remember those memorable days of him puffing on his pipe at Bano and Pops' house. He had such a contagious smile:) Uncle Carl and my Dad would never call each other by their given name, but rather by RED. Cherished all the stories of him and my Dad playing baseball together in their youth in Northwest Denver.
May God grant you all peace, heal your pain, and forever cherish all the wonderful family memories.
All our Love,
Catherine (Eric) Reasoner Gardner

To My Amazing Auntie Betty, Dear Godmother Donna & Bob, My Wonderful Cousin Dr. Carl & Kathleen, All My First Cousins Once & Twice Removed, and My Mother,
Eric (Bud) and I offer all of you our sincerest condolences on the passing of this accomplished man...your husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. Thank you all for sharing him with us.
I loved and admired my "Uncle Don" and join you in honoring a long life well-lived. He was truly one of a kind! So much so, that we called him "Uncle Don", when his name was Carl. Love that!
To My Uncle Don,
I will surely miss walking into your family room, to find you relaxed with your Air Force cap perched on your head and John Wayne on the television.
I have so many wonderful memories of you as my Uncle. I owe to you and Auntie Betty my love of dogs, dolls, and music.
When I was little, you and Auntie Betty often graced birthdays and Christmases with gifts of beautiful dolls...from gorgeous Japanese figures in kimonos, to Madame Alexander Dolls of the World. To this day, I still work on my collection that you both started all those years ago.
In my tween years, you sent me a very special present all the way from Japan...a Sony pocket transistor radio! I couldn't get enough of the music it played. I'd sneak it under my pillow all night, the tiny single earbud cranking out tunes that I still love.
You & Auntie Betty drove me to and from kindergarten after our house fire. I couldn't wait to come over to your house and play with Jacques and Chanel...two of my favorite dogs, ever.
What an impression you made, my dear, wonderful Uncle Don. I will greatly miss that grin and little chuckle of yours. May you rest in peace, in His care, and grin down at us from above.
