Daniel Benner Obituary
He was born on Oct. 3, 1929, in Tuscarora Township, a son of the late Cora L. (Krytzer) Benner.
He served in the Korean War with the United States Army and was a member of New Bloomfield VFW Post No. 7463.
He was self-employed for many years (Benner's Body Shop), worked for Carlisle Tire & Rubber, and was disabled from Dynamaster.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy B. (Johnson) Benner; his sister, Eleanor Fritz Chubb of Newport; his seven children, Daniel H. Benner Jr. of Lake Wales, Fla., Deborah L. Jayne of Carlisle, Doncella L. Miller of New Bloomfield, Dale K. Benner of Shermans Dale, Darvin E. Benner of Newport, Doreen L. Brownawell of New Bloomfield and Dwayne E. Benner of New Bloomfield; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, in Hope of Glory Family Church, 717 Pine Grove Road, New Bloomfield. Burial with military honors will be in Eshcol Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
