Yes, it is 2023 and I too am just now looking up this great man. I worked for him at Inexco as a young 20 something in the 80's and I adored his soft nature, gentle smile and crumpled shirts. He was always so kind. One day he walked up as I sat filing my nails...and with a big smile he simply asked, "whatcha doin?". I was mortified. In this photo, champagne in hand, we are celebrating "finding oil"...just one of many celebrations we had with him at the realm.
RIP Mr. Wolf. I know your family misses you dearly. Cindy Fuchs Miller

Yes, it´s 2023, but I just learned of Erv´s passing. I worked for him in the late 70´s and, although I thought of him many times over the years, only now followed up. Most of my sentiments have already been expressed by others. Erv was clearly the best leader anyone could ask for. My fondest memory is similar to the "feet on desk" story. In my case, a contractor went over my head to Erv. He personally came to my office to tell me he sent sent the contractor away as he did not like that tactic and would not interfere in my work. How great a boost of confidence was that for a young manager? I will never forget Erv. Rest in peace...

I had the honor of working for Mr. Wolf for 10 years and must say that these were some of the best years of my life. His kindness, warmth, and genuine care of all of his employees is unmatched. My deepest condolences and wish that many other would take the lead of Mr. Wolf on how employees should be treated within the workplace. Thank you Sir for allowing me to work for you and your company. The world is darker having lost a shining star.

Erv was a wonderful leader for me as a young geologist and manager, and he served as an inspiration for the rest of my career. He impacted many people directly, and many more for how he taught us to work with others.

No kinder, more gentler a man has walked this Earth in my lifetime. I worked for Mr. Wolf at Inexco Oil Company from 1980 to 1986 and one of the last employees to help turn out the lights. A sad, sad day for a all of his employees and friends. He frequently came into my office in his pastel, rumpled shirts and slacks, his signature sweater and would put his feet up on my desk and ask how my day was going and what was going on with the automotive world and corporate fleet management in particular. I was the Inexco vehicle fleet administrator. He drove a classic 1976 Cadillac Eldorado coup that was black on black on black and I made sure it looked like and ran like it has just come off the showroom. He loved that car and I dearly loved him as a friend, a fellow Sailor and a great human being.

I too work for Mr. Wolf at Inexco Oil Company where I was the Fleet Manager and purchasing agent. He drove this incredible 1976 Cadillac Eldorado coupe that was black on black on black. And even though many on his staff were getting new company car, Erv insisted on driving the Caddy and I made sure it was serviced and washed for him every week. He would often come into my office in those pastel, wrinkled clothes he wore, put his feet up on my desk and ask me what was happening in the automotive and corporate fleet world. And be 100 percent genuinely interested. He was a natural born leader, a visionary and one of the finest human beings that I've ever met. I only wish I could have met him after he had to sell the company.

I worked for Mr. Wolf at Inexco Oil Company. He was a soft spoken, kind, and gentle man. With a charming smile on his face, he would say something quirky to me and make my day. He was very intellectual, a little eccentric, and highly respected. I was very fond of him. I'll keep his family in my thoughts, prayers and heart.

I was a young Petroleum Engineer working for Erving at INEXCO Oil Company and one day he just came into my office, sat down comfortably and we chatted for several minutes. I compared all of my future CEO's to Erving, who took time out of his busy day to spend his valuable time outside of his office to get to know one of his employees. I am grateful for the opportunity to have known him.
