Georgette Scifres

Scifres, Georgette Dean, May 31, 1913 - October 14, 2011.
Georgette Dean Scifres passed away peacefully at Manor Care Boulder, October 14, 2011. She was born in Denver to Winifred and Charles Lake Dean on May 13, 1913.
She lived in Paris, France from 1930-33 where she attended The New York School of Fine and Applied Art.
Upon return to the US, she studied art at Denver University where she became a member of Gamma Phi Beta in 1934.
She was a member of the Sevigne Club where she enjoyed speaking fluent French at their meetings.
She married Gale Clevenger Kehmeier, a pilot with United Airlines on March 22, 1942 in San Francisco. Soon after, they moved back to Denver. They had 3 children; Gail, Dean and Melanie. They divorced in 1973.
At the age of 76 she married Eugene (Skip) Maxwell Scifres, together they enjoyed over 20 years of much happiness.
An artist at heart her love of beauty was nondiscriminatory. She found it wherever she was. Most important to her were her family, home, animals and her deep faith in God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Gail and her husband Skip. She is survived by her sister Beth Dean Carell of Sydney Australia, her son Dean Kehmeier, her daughter Melanie Roeder and son-in-law Bill Roeder, all of Boulder and 3 grandchildren; Jhon, Sean and Tahn Kehmeier. She has 5 great grandchildren.
Donations in her memory may be made to The Boulder Humane Society. A memorial and celebration of her life will be held on November 5 at 2PM at 8330 Larkspur Road, Boulder. All are welcome.
