Makayla Scott Obituary

Our little angel, Makayla, "Kiki" and "Stinky", age 2, went to heaven on Feb. 24, 2010. Survived by her mother Sheena Torrey, father Clinton Scott, grandparents Gary and Linda Scott and Gale "Nana" Torrey, Auntie Sarah, 5 great-grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Makayla was born on Apr. 19, 2007 and began sharing her life, sweet smiles, giggles and laughter with family and friends including all her friends at Trinity Place daycare. She loved all the family pets and really enjoyed cutting paper, using markers, painting with water colors, putting stickers on everything and wearing her pink sunglasses in Nana's car. Her favorite movies were Monsters, Inc, Garfield, Open Season and Fraggle Rock. Makayla especially loved her baby dolls and kept them covered with blankets and would hold and pat them like a real baby. Tragically, the night of Feb. 23rd, while riding home with her dad, the car slid on ice and hit a tree creating fatal injuries to her little body. Dad is struggling for life in ICU. Makayla will continue to give back through organ donation. She was our sunshine and our everything for 2 years and 10 months. Makayla was here just long enough to steal our hearts. She will leave a lifetime of memories. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Tues with rosary to follow. Services will be at 12:00pm on Wed., all at Crown Hill Mortuary. Burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Scott Family Fund at any 1st Bank location.

We are Larry Beyette's godparents and had the pleasure of knowing Chris as they grew up together and belong to Notre Dame Parish. I can't believe this has happened so soon after the loss of Howie. I cannot realize the pain you are dealing with right now, but know that my families prayers and wishes are with all of you. The agony of having to deal with Makayla passing and Clint in such dire straights has to be an awful burden to bear. Hey Sheena and Linda its Jessy from Trinity, I am so sorry about Makayla I can't even imagine the pain you are all going through. I miss Makayla so much, just a few weeks ago I was bringing her candy for doing so well with her accidents, and the night before she left us I remember playing dolls with her before going home. Makayla truly was a ray of sunshine and will be missed greatly. My daughters Annie and Sarah Rose both went to Trinity with her and spoke of her often. She was always helping the girls gather their things to leave for the day and there were hugs to go around. Our thoughts are with you and your family in this time of sorrow.

My heart remains so very sad for your loss of Makayla. From the words I just read in her obituary, I can tell what a wonderfully happy little girl she was. I kind of knew that from meeting so many of her family last Tuesday night, but it was nice to even see what her favorite movies were.
