Chuck, Jim, Cheryl and families:
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I have so many great memories of her and your family; the laughs we shared were usually about something your mother said or did. You could count on Shirley to "tell it like it is."
I still remember when she started out on one of her self-improvement missions: reading through the Encyclopedia Britannica, page by page! (I'm not sure she made it all the way through, but she was on the "C"s when she told me about her project).
Mom tells of those lazy afternoons in Sullivan when they would sit on the town square and watch all the folks pass by (probably accompanied by a impertinent remark or two by one of them, then both still teenagers).
And, if I recall correctly, she was the first (and only) relative of mine to own a convertible! Unfortunately, such frivolity was beyond my father's imagination but was quite in character for his sister!
Our lives were all enriched by Shirley, she is sorely missed.
