Glen Hardy Obituary

Glen Isaac Hardy 1913 ~ 2004  MT. PLEASANT - Glen Isaac Hardy: age 89, died April 10, 2004 in Salt Lake City while in the care of his devoted, loving son, Kayle Hardy.  Glen was born May 20, 1913 in Moroni, Utah to Mae and Walter Hardy. He was raised and educated in Moroni and lived most of his adult life in Mt. Pleasant. He married his beloved Maxine Johansen Hardy in the Manti Temple. They were the parents of two sons, Kayle Glen Hardy and Bryce Walter Hardy. He raised niece Judy Johansen Hansen as his own. He deeply loved his wife, children and faith. Glen raised turkeys and was a safety inspector with the Utah State Roads Department. He served his community as Mayor of Mt. Pleasant and his LDS faith as Bishop. He kept a beautiful yard, grew wonderful flowers and cultivated an amazing garden. He delighted his friends, family and neighbors with his yearly Christmas yard display. He loved working with wood, raising pigeons and "the feel of a good horse." He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and work around the house, especially with his sons. He was most at home in the mountains and valleys of Sanpete County. He was able to live independently in his home until recently and could usually be found working in the yard.  He is survived by his son, Kayle G. Hardy (Brooke); nieces, Judy Hansen (Jerry) and Diane (Carl) Kelly; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; son, Bryce, sisters, Bernadine and Vida and brother, Don and close friend Mary Jensen.  Special thanks to niece, Diane Kelly for her loving care over the past several months.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 5th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Tues. from 6-8 pm at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant and 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. Dear Family,

Our family lived in the same neighborhood, while I served as the principal of North Sanpete High. No finer man ever walked this earth than Glen Hardy! If every person were like him this world would be a beautiful place and a place filled with kindness. I shall ever cherish the memories I have of this great man.
