Joee Hellier Obituary
Joee was born on September 1, 1974 in Murray, Utah; daughter of Randy and Sheila Bennion. She spent her life in Utah Valley, and graduated from Jordan High in '92. She loved to spend time with those she cared about; especially her family, her boyfriend, and close friends. She was an independent, single mother; her pride and joy in this world were her two wonderful children: daughter, Madison, 19 and son, Shawn, 14. She's very thankful to Mike for the years they had spent together and the two children they had. The last few months were brightened by her boyfriend, Greg. We are grateful for how happy he made her. Joee was selfless, thoughtful, loyal, sincere, respectful, empathic, understanding, a nurturer, a peace-keeper, a dreamer, a fun-loving spirit, a unique individual, and she touched so many lives. She was a loving mother, cherished daughter, treasured sister and an altruistic person.Joee passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 at the age of 38, due to health complications that lead to a rare and un-treatable condition. Joee is survived by her daughter, Madi; son, Shawn; parents; Randy and Sheila; brothers: Jess (Heather) and Jake (Karen) Bennion; sister, Jami (Brian) Hill and many nieces and nephews."It takes one second to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, and an entire life time to forget them." Funeral services will be held Monday, September 24, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where a viewing will be held Sunday, 6-8:00 p.m. and again Monday 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment: Smithfield City Cemetery. An account has been set up at Zions Bank in the name of Jami Hill (Joee's sister) for the benefit of her children for expenses.

My dearest and precious daughter, it's been 13 years since we lost you, and not a day goes by that your not thought of by many friends and family. You would be so proud of your kids, they are doing so well in life and grateful for you, and the love and guidance you showed them. Madi is getting married to an awesome young man, that will treat her like a queen, you would have really loved Ian. Eight years have passed Joee since we lost you, and not a day goes by that your not missed and thought of with loving hearts, your dad and I lost part of our souls that day, but time has a way of making you look at things with a different perspective. You would be so proud of you children and the way they have grown since you've been gone, always know how much you are loved, honored, looked up to, and proud of the life that you lived, and your unselfish willingness to do service for all you came in contact with. Your dad and I know you are doing great work on that side of the veil, the things you are learning and the time you are spending with your grandmother, give her a hug and a kiss from your momma and let her know that she too has not been forgotten, much love to you sweetheart, my priceless daughter....till we meet again...love always mom

A moth ago the world became a poorer place with Joee's death, this I know because I know her wonderful parents. My heartfelt condolences to the family, and may God comfort you in this time of terrible loss. He knows when the sparrow falls, so He had to have a great white carpet waiting for Joee.

We had fun! What memories...my family would come home from overseas, Mom and Dad would stay at Grandma's and I would stay at "Aunt Sheila's", what a party!!! Spending the nights on the trampoline looking at the stars and the days, playing and running like there was no tomorrow... You were the little sister I didn't have, poor thing. Jess and I would work you up into a wild frenzy, teasing you, pushing your buttons like it was our JOB!!!! But the thing I remember most, YOU were always happy and had a smile for everyone. WE HAD FUN!!!!
Now we have families of our own and responsibilities that has kept us apart, I'm grateful for the time we shared and the opportunity to be a small part of your life, and you in mine. Thank you for your happiness, your contagious smile and sharing your stay here in mortality with me. God be with you till we meet again.

Phenia, I have put off writing in your guest book because this seems to be the final step for me. I have said it a million times, I shouldn't have lost my best friend of 30 years. Joee--You were the child that my heart chose and your parents were kind enough to share you with me. I loved you from the moment I first saw you and you grinned at me. Through the years you were always so dear to me, especially after I moved to Oklahoma. I would show up at your Mom's house and you immediately came to give me hugs and an update. Nobody gave hugs like you!! I have always been so proud of your accomplishments, but your kids truly are your crowning glory. What amazing kids they are and they will grow into amzing adults because of you. What a terrific job you did raising Madi and Shawn! I am glad that you are not in pain any longer but I am so sad for all of us mere mortals that are left to grieve for you. You were so loved! It was a special blessing to have you in my life for so many years.

My dear Joee. Oh how I will miss your happy songs, especially after lunch when you had your pepsi. You were such a dependable and hard working employee. You were always willing to help out and make sure everything was done before you went home. I will miss you so much as I look across the room and don't see you sitting there. Sorry to hear about the loss of Joee. I just knew her from working at Henderson amd even though I was a driver in dispatch and she was in the office area and get to talk to her or see her too much, the times I did were really nice and she was a really nice person and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.

My heart goes out to the family of a very sweet lady that I got to know before I started at the same company she worked for. She was such a sweet person to know & always had a smile & always looked to cute all the time. It is hard to believe that she is gone I was hoping to get to know her even better than I did.
