It's funny how I woke up today thinking I need to register for the class in Jan. Then I saw this email. I took the Master Gardner class with Larry Sagers about 2010. I learned so much but now I'm wanting to expand to a small green house. Still many years later the knowledge has stuck.

I feel such a loss within me with the passing of Larry Sagers. I was blessed to be able to attend one of his classes at Thanksgiving Point and I planned on taking more as soon as I had more time. The class I took from Mr Sager was so entertaining. I laughed out loud; he was so funny and taught me so much. I loved listening to him on KSL Greenhouse and trying to guess his answer before he would reply to the callers. Every time I work in my yard I will think of him and send a prayer heavenward with thanks for the privledge of knowing him just a little bit. Thank you so much Larry Sagers.

I wish words could adequately convey the color, scent and joy that being a student of Larry's has brought into my life. His heart full of the joy of nature has colored my world, and I feel humbled and grateful to be a student of someone who is so brilliant and passionate in his love of this world the Savior created in part for that very reason. Because the glories of nature pleased Larry's eye and gladdened his heart, so many of us have been pleased, gladdened taught as well....gladdened to know Him and to be the recipient of His knowledge, passion, appreciation and the joy of living. Oh that I could leave so much behind when I go! I don't know of anyone else who will enjoy the gardens of heaven more! God bless you, Larry!

Thank you Larry, for all the advice you shared, enabling me to grow a better garden, get a greener lawn, and harvest wonderful vegetable crops! You have such an amazing knowledge of so many things! I am grateful for all the time and effort you put into your radio show, and all that you did for so many. You will be greatly missed! Hearing your voice on the Greenhouse show, was part of my Saturday morning. It won't be the same without you. I loved your dry sense of humor! My sympathies and prayers go out to your family.

How can one ever thank Larry Sagers enough for giving so generously of his time teaching everyone how to garden. His legacy lives on with those of us who have been fortunate enough to be his students not only for gardening but how to live life to the very end...always giving, always teaching, always a gentleman. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

As a beginner gardner, I really appreciated Larry's radio show and his work at Thanksgiving Point. I've implemented his ideas on square foot gardening in my own garden for quite a few years now.
Thank you for all the delicious beans, peas, carrots, beets, over the years that we were able to enjoy with very little garden space!

My heart aches for the Sagers family who are still here on earth when the man they love so much has moved on in this eternal journey. May with time the pain soften and the memories of the wonderful times and great man he was grow stronger. Keep him alive in your hearts and lives and his teachings and love will live on. May the hard times be softened by the eternal gospel. Much love to such a wonderful family. April Stevenson

I am a Master Gardner in Davis County. We were fortunate to have Larry come and teach the advanced classes up here about 5 years ago. I had him teach all four of my advanced classes. It was such fun! What the newpaper acticle DID NOT SAY was about his very dry sense of humor. He really was a funny guy, especially when I teased him about being from Erda. I was shocked to hear of his passing since I never knew him to be sick in the first place. Horticulture will never be quite the same again. My thoughts are for the family and I do mourn with you.

Sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I took a Master Gardner course from him 20 years ago (1992). As a subsequent member of SL MG association, I gave seveeral lectures, and helped Larry personally in pruning demos and gardening projects on the fairgrounds. He was a great help to me in many ways. Our condolences to the family.

Too soon a gifted teacher and horticulturist has left us. My wife and I loved his radio show and took a class from him. He radiated patience, humor and love of God's creations. He has become a master celestial gardener. May his family be comforted knowing that Larry will be waiting to show them his newest floral beauties.
