I offer my sincere condolences to your family. I have had the privilege of working with Mike over the past 9 years at Salt Lake County. He was an inspiration and shining beacon of hope and strength to those around him. He will be missed here in mortality by many, but the Lord has a work for him to do of which I know Mike will put his whole heart and soul into accomplishing.

Dear Shauna and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I had the opportunity to be a classmate of his in Aberdeen and he was such a kind and thoughtful friend, always. I never heard him say an unkind word to anyone and he was always a good friend to everyone. I had to opportunity to talk with him a couple of times in the last couple of years and he was always so positive about his illness and just plain life. This good man will be missed tremendously by all who knew him. I am sure he will be carrying his good work and waiting for his family to join him.
My condolences to you all.

Dear Family,
It was a true blessing visiting with Mike
just 2 or 3 weeks ago. It was always a joy to share our love of God and family
as we worked closely together at the Library for some 2o + years. I will long
remember our times of simple problem solving and especially the times we prayed together for a special need of one of our associates or a family situation.
God Bless you now, as you grieve the loss of someone so loved, and with the hope that only Our Father in heaven with his holy spirit can give. "See you next time Mike".
Sincerely, Bev Dusserre

To the Stoker family,

I consider Mike to be one of my mentors and a true friend. He was willing to provide me with a job at the county before my mission and guided me in so many ways during that time and upon my return home. He was a man of true integrity and always pushed me to keep moving forward. I will always remember his positive affirmations and willingness to talk with me. His office door was always open to me. Where others would look down on me and insist treating me like a kid, he would always prop me up and acknowledge my place as an adult in the world. This has had such a profound impact on my life. I will always remember Mike and his role in my life.

Thank you Stokers for sharing Mike with all of us.

Mike was a wonderful boss and confidant; his memory will live on for a very long time. I wanted to share something that I received when my father passed away recently (February 2013):
Don't Cry

Don't cry for me now I am gone, I did not die, my life goes on.
For all we shared throughout the years, send me your love without your tears.
I couldn't stay, and so instead, I've walked a little way ahead.

This morning I awoke again, to face another day of pain,
And suddenly beheld a door, I'm certain wasn't there before.
And, trying, found to my surprise, with ease and comfort I could rise.

And at the door to welcome me, stood countless friends and family.
Well-loved and lost so long ago, all gathered now to let me know,
Eternal are the ties that bind our hearts to those we leave behind.

Please don't think I don't still care, those we loved here are still loved there.
The darkest night will end with dawn, don't cry for me, my life goes on.

Love & Peace

A lot of time has passed since I last saw you and your family. I fondly remember Mike's crushing handshake; I could never get ready for it in time. Please accept my sincere condolence at his passing. I have good memories of both of you. Words fall short of proper expression during these times. My best to you and your family.

Dearest Shauna and family; I am truly sorry for your loss. Mike was one of those wonderful people that you meet and know immediately that you have found a good friend. Having had you and your family as our neighbors for over 30 yrs was a blessing. I learned more about Mike when we sang together in the "Sound Effects" singing group. He would alway have a funny story to tell that kept everyone laughing and enjoying their time together. May you, your children and grandchildren received the comfort and blessings that you need at this most difficult time. You are in my prayers.
Sincerely, Debra Campbell
