Rex Bilby Adams

1923 ~ 2013
Rex Bilby Adams was born October 1, 1923 to Robert Darius Adams and Jesse Ellen Billingsly in Cedar City, Utah.
Rex was raised in Hurricane, Utah. At the end of World War II he attended photography school in Berkley, California. That began a career wherein he became a legacy known as the "Chicken-man". Rex married Wilma Whitney of Hurricane on June 15, 1943. Wilma passed away May 9, 1968,
On March 21st 1970, Rex married Maxine T Curtis Church in Manti, Utah. Together they had two boys (deceased) and one daughter, Kandis Lei. Along the way they gathered anyone who needed a home and a bit of love. Eventually 19 called him Dad.
Moving to Orem in 1977 they created another Photography studio and became known as the man with the chicken, bring laughter to hundreds of thousands of school students.
Rex loved life, had a deep testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ , loved serving in Primary, camping with friends and family, eating at Chuck A Rama and KFC, living in the foothill area of Fairview, Utah (18 yrs) and being a temple worker in the Manti Temple. He gave love unconditionally to all.
He leaves a wife, Maxine, a legacy of children, their spouses, grandchildren (78) and great-grandchildren (142). Surviving children are Scott, Mary, Kristina, Carl, Cory, Kelly and Kandi Adams; Terry, Becky, Derrel, Debra and Kevin Curtis; Doug, Dennis, Karla and Louise Church; and Leonard Anthony and Virginia Kjar.
Rex passed away May 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Spanish Fork East Stake Center, 870 East Canyon Road, Spanish Fork, UT. Friends and family may visit prior to services from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. A visitation will also be held Thursday May 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork. Interment will follow in the Richfield City Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
