Strength, fairness, humility and a disarming twinkle in his eye. Florenz, which I know he never liked but I think always some how fit him..a little extra unexpected style! I grew up around the Kapaun household and was always impressed by the diversity and strength in the family. Flo always said that was due to Katherine, said he had it easy working two sometimes three jobs while the family grew, he said Katherine really held everything up..he had it easy. I am quiet sure they were very much evenly yolked. I remember Flo as a very quiet authority figure that somehow commanded respect..once he caught me rifling his Jazz collection, I was petrified. The stereo was located within the confines of the master bedroom..which was off limits mostly. I remember Flo putting me at ease yet suggesting firmly and quietly that i don't check out the Jazz without his permission..of course I complied. The last time I saw Flo was at Katherine's funeral..was bowled over by his strength in the ability to have the where withal to even stand and deliver through what I know was incredible grief. As i grew older around the wonderful family that is the Kapauns, I was always impressed by Flo's quiet delightful manner which I never appreciated until I was in my late teens..I guess I got old enough to get the jokes..truly delightful! An end of an era..My love and heartfelt condolences to all of you. The world has a little less style without Flo.
