Rachel Kinley Obituary
West Des Moines
Pat Kinley, 70, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her home in West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines. Private entombment will take place at Resthaven Mausoleum in West Des Moines.
Pat was born November 26, 1946 in Springfield, MO to Clarence and Minnie Bell Shelby. She graduated from Tech High School in Des Moines and Iowa State University in 1983 with a Bachelor's Degree in journalism. Pat worked in public relations for Apple Computer and Hewlett Packard, where she retired. She most recently co-owned Paris Flea Market in Valley Junction. Pat was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoyed antiques, cooking and spending time with her family.
Pat is survived by her son, Jeff Kinley of West Des Moines; daughter, Jennifer (Curtiss) Wright of Superior, CO; five grandchildren, Katie Schaffer of Superior, CO, Greg Schaffer of West Des Moines, Kinley Schaffer of Scottsdale, AZ, Walker Wright of Superior, CO and Hayden Wright of Superior, CO; and brother, Jim (Sandie) Shelby of Grove, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mike Shelby; and husband, Bob Dickey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Iowa State University Foundation or to the family.
