DAVID W. HERMAN

HERMAN DAVID W., age 63 of Inkster passed away at his home on July 27, 2011. He was born in Detroit on June 3, 1948 to Ted and Wanda Herman. He graduated from Divine Child High School in 1966 and was immediately hired by Chrysler Corp. In 1968 Dave entered the US Navy and served four years. He then returned to his job at Chrysler under The Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Act and worked a total of 35 years, retiring in 2004. While at Chrysler, Dave continued in the Naval Reserves putting in a total of 24 years of military service. Dave will be missed greatly not only for his sense of humor and intelligence but also his tender, giving heart. He loved the Detroit Red Wings and Cheli's in Dearborn. He is survived by his brother Major Jeff Herman, sisters Rene' Davis, Mary Kay Mayer and Susan Brunsink, his step-children Debbie, Renee, and Patty. Also, Lisa who was like a daughter to him. He was predeceased by his lovely wife Beverly, parents and brothers Mike and Gordie. A memorial service will be held at the Garden City VFW #7575 on October 2 at 2 p.m.
