Doneen Hesse Obituary
DONEEN Age 81, passed peacefully on April 11, 2017. Born in Belding, MI to Donald and Cathryn McGahan, she was a devoted wife of 60 years to Hugo C. Hesse; Loving mother to Hugo III, Marc, Eric, Kurt (Zdenka), Dawn and Scott. Cherished sister to Donald (Jody) and Larry (Mara) McGahan and beloved by 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and devoted extended family. President of Detroit Cornice and Slate, she was a true businesswoman who embodied dignity, integrity and loyalty to all who knew her. Doneen met every challenge with true grit and determination to carry on the 129 year old family business that she was so proud of. Ever the Irish twinkle in her eye and a ready laugh for a funny story, she was a larger than life person packed into a 5'-0" frame. Everyone she met, loved her for who she was and respected the sharp mind she had. She was loving and gracious to all and generous in spirit to those in need. She was a wonderful woman that brought out the best in others and all felt blessed to have known her. Family will receive friends Wednesday April 19th for visitation from 6-9 p.m. at Sawyer Fuller Funeral Home in Berkley, MI. Memorial Service Thursday April 20th 11 a.m. at the funeral home. We are very sorry to hear of Doneen,s passing.She was a delight to visit with when she came to stay at her dream cottage in Camlachie on Lake Huron.
We were her friend and neighbor for 12 years,our lives are truly better for knowing Doneen and her family.
Our thoughts are with her family as you had a great mother to be proud of,may she rest in peace.
