Remembering Jonelle Zehel. Rita, Jonelle and John Zehel, Gino Catenacci and I all grew up as kids on the 4000 block of McDougall street in Detroit. We were absolute best friends for life. Detroit was then a bustling post-WW II city converting from being the Arsenal of Democracy to the world leader in automobiles. Our working class families and friends were tied to Chrysler and Ford. We received a solid education at St Elizabeth's that carried us through life. Good times in a great city! Gino and I watch Detroit with interest and hope.

Very lucky to have Jonelle as my first boss. Luckier to have her as a life long friend. I will always hold her strength, courage and friendship in my heart.

My dear childhood and lifelong friend. My first 'date' at a Tigers ball game! An honest, friendly, hard working, decent person. What a great family the Zehels have been! She moved with Rita to share her life with Andrea and the Barrett family. God bless the Barretts ... Jonelle was so happy to be included! I pray we get to join up and play Releaso, softball and cards again. Love you Rita and Jonelle! ...Forever.

I enjoyed working with Jonelle at the Communications Office of the Archdiocese of Detroit in the late 90s. While it was a very busy office, Jonelle was a steady and helpful presence at the reception desk. I think of her often with fondness. May she rest in peace.

Jonelle was a wonderful friend and colleague to me while working at the Archdiocese of Detroit. We shared lots of laughter and meaningful discussions regarding a wide variety of subjects. Rest in God's hands, my friend.
