I never met Don. I only knew him from his many kind comments on my Facebook page, Traces of Texas. My heart goes out to his family. Prayers and peace to them.

I can't say in words what I am feeling. I just know my whole being is trying to come to terms with this loss. Don held and calmed my 8 day old, fussy, first grand-baby. Just the way he held him, as if he was one of his own. To know Don is to know that you are loved. Oh, my family, I am praying that God will give us an enormous amount of comfort and peace!!!!

I'm I'm so sad to hear about the passing of Donnie. This good Christian man was a credit to his friends ,his family, his country and his hometown. He will be sorely missed. My most deepest and sincere condolences to his family.
