Harry Kinzy Obituary

Harry Hersel "Slim" Kinzy, 92, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2003, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church, Fort Worth, Dr. Bill Longsworth officiating. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Dallas.

Slim was born July 19,1910, in East Texas. He was a 1934 graduate of TCU, where he was an exceptional athlete. His baseball prowess earned him a professional contract with the Chicago White Sox. He was subsequently inducted into the TCU Letterman's Hall of Fame. He was a many times president of First United Methodist Church Couples Class. During his business career he worked for Goodyear, White Motor Co., and Ryder Truck Company. He was an avid gardener and provided the bounty of his labor of love to his family and many friends. Slim left an indelible mark on the lives of all his friends and family. His unflagging sense of humor and tender regard for his fellow man is his legacy to mankind. We loved him dearly and the sunshine of his life will be missed by many.

Survivors: Beloved wife of 64 years, Anne Kinzy; sons, Norman and Howard Kinzy and their families; brother, Milford Kinzy; sister, Aleene Byland; as well as loving nieces and nephews.
