James Jordan Obituary

James "Jimmy" Jordan, 50, of Keller passed away peacefully Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his home after a 5 1/2-year battle with brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme. An avid runner, he now runs on those streets of gold with no more illness and sits at the feet of his maker and Savior. Service: 10 a.m. Friday at Valley Creek Church, 5800 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound. A reception and burial will follow. Arrangements are being handled by Grapevine Lucas Funeral Home. Memorials: If desired, floral arrangements are being coordinated through Devin Designs Florist of Grapevine, 817-481-7818. If desired, donations can be made in James' memory to www.braintumor.org. Jimmy was born Nov. 24, 1962, in Fort Polk, La., to Otho and Hope Jordan. Raised in San Antonio, he graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1982. He went on to earn his BBA in finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio. A natural leader, he began a successful career in sales and found his niche in the payroll and benefits processing industry. In 2002, he was the founding partner of Paycom DFW of Lewisville. Now merged with Paycom Payroll, it employs over 600 nationally. His character, witness for Christ, zest for life and dedication to his family and employees were unmatchable. He was a beloved coach for most of his children's sports teams. Any Saturday you could likely find him on a soccer or football field or a basketball court. This world lost a devoted father, cherished son, respected boss, faithful friend and brother, and adored husband, but heaven gained a faithful servant. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Jordan. Survivors: Wife, Sue of Keller; children, Kayla Villarreal and husband, Mario, of Keller, Zach Jordan attending UT-San Antonio, Eli and Lindsey Jordan of Keller; parents, Otho and Hope Jordan of San Antonio; in-laws, Jerry and Esther Hamilton of Keller; siblings, Eddie Jordan, Sylvia Jordan, Maggie Baxter and Bobby Jordan; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Met and worked with Jimmy waiting tables back in the mid 80's. Jimmy was so much fun to work with. He was compassionate and kind. So glad to have seen him in 2011 at our reunion. He will be missed. Condolences to his family. RIP Jimmy.

I worked with Jimmy at Cappy's in San Antonio. What a great guy and so much fun to be around. We just did a reunion for Cappy's employees and Jimmy came into town to visit everyone. I got the chance to visit with him and gossip about old times at the restaurant. Such joy to me to be a part of knowing him. God Bless, Cheryl Sanin

To Jimmy: We went together to H]igh School, he was my guardian angel, it hurts so much to imagine the pain that this causes to my aunt and ouncle and to his family, but I´m sure everyone that had the huge honor to meet him and loved him we all are sure that the world lost a great man, but the sky earned and angel with a warm smile and a big kindness. I know you are now in the sky with the Lord, happy as you deserve to be.
I´ll miss you, your cousin; Monica Ruiz

They say everything is bigger in Texas. I think Texas and the world is a smaller place with you not in it. On the other hand cousin, Heaven has to be a brighter place with you there.

Jimmy always carried the sweetest smile on his face. He was kind and he cared for people and especially for the boys that were in the small group he lead at church. He instructed them and fought for them. We will always be thankful for the part he took in our life and the life of our son Andrew.
Sue, you and your kids and family are in our prayers.

Jimmy was one of the biggest role models I had growing up. He was my small group leader at VCC for many many years, and taught me so many life lessons that I carry with me every day. Jimmy taught me to fight injustice by fighting for me in a few situations. Jimmy never ever judged me for my actions, and was always there to encourage me in my endeavors. Jimmy was like a father to me in many ways, and I will never forget all that he did for me. Jimmy is a great great man, and I was lucky to have him around for my youthful years to teach me how to be a good person, and work hard in everything I do. I still carry in my wallet a paper that he gave me about 8 years ago in one of our small group discussions, and I will continue to carry it until it falls to peices. Jimmy, you impacted my life more than you could ever know, and I thank you for that. Rest easy for you have impacted this world for the better.

He was always full of smiles. He was very much a family man and a church goer. I lived across the street from him and loved every moment talking with him. He was always so nice to me. His greatness has made his family such a nice group of people. I am glad Christ brought us together.

I only met him a handful of times but he has been in my prayers day in and day out for almost a year now. The few times I went over to his house he was always so welcoming a full of life; you could tell that everyone around him adored him. Being a good friend of one of his nephews, I cannot even begin to tell you how high of a regard he was held in. He was frequently a topic of our conversation and I feel like I know him well because of it. To say that he was and is loved is an understatement. He definitely made his mark on the world and served His heavenly father well. He is running a marathon somewhere in Heaven dressed to the nines in his cowboy gear. My deepest sympathies go out to the family for the lose of such a wonderful man. Now is the time to live up to his challenge, to not take a day for granted, to never give up, to never let a situation overcome you, to always serve God, and to love people whole heartedly and unconditionally. His example will live on forever in the lives of his family and those who even came in slight contact with him. He truly touched and inspired everyone he came in contact with. His story and impact on his nephew has touched my life and much like David, I can honestly say that he was a man after Gods heart.
