Louie Heerwagen Obituary

Louie Martin Heerwagen Jr., age 81, of Haltom City, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29 at the Presbyterian Church of Flower Mound. Louie was born June 20, 1935, in Springdale, Ark., to Louie and Imogene Heerwagen. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1955 he married the love of his life Mary Nell Clark, and together, they raised three children. Graduating from the University of Arkansas at the top of his class as an Industrial Engineer he worked throughout his life as a leader in Manufacturing Management for General Electric, Phillips North America and Selmer Instruments. Louie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Nell; sisters, Jean Ann Ritchie and Margaret Tilley; and a grandchild, Trevor Heerwagen. Survivors: He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Ferguson Corson and her husband, Brian; sons, Louie M Heerwagen III and his wife, Rene, and James R Heerwagen and his wife, Sherri; sisters, Betty Wood and Honey Keck; grandchildren, John Heerwagen and his wife, Amy, Jennifer Heerwagen, Austin Heerwagen, Allison Heerwagen, Jamie Ferguson and Caileigh Ferguson; along with two great grandchildren, Madilyn and Landri Heerwagen.

Louie was my boss in the late '80s at Ludwig Ind. a subsidiary of Selmer Inc. He was a great guy to work for. Always had a god joke to tell and had a big heart. Was an honor to have worked for him.
