Phyllis Sherick Obituary
She was born on December 31, 1926 in Fremont to Jesse and Lillian (Parlow) Myers. Phyllis was a 1945 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She married Wendall Sherick on March 31, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church with whom she celebrated their 50th anniversary and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2001. Phyllis was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild, Rachel Circle and served in various offices of the women's leadership group. She also taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was a member of Fremont Federation of Women and Kingsway Homemakers. Phyllis was employed by Crescent Manufacturing; Findlay G & W Sugar Company; Fremont News Messenger; Eckrich Meats and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce as an Office Administrator. She was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, traveling, and church and family activities.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Wendy (Michael) Schifer, Pawleys Island, SC, Sara (Deb Wingert) Sherick, Philip L. Sherick, both of Fremont, OH; and granddaughter, Megan Jessemyn (Casey) Schifer Cochran, Chicago, IL; nephews, Matt (Lisa) Wilson, Mike (Malinda Fisher) Wilson; and niece, Martha (Tom Bruley) Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendall Sherick; and sister, Avis Wilson.
Visitation: Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH. Service: Monday, January 31, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Lees officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
Memorials: St. John's Lutheran Church or Fremont Federation of Women.

To the Sherick family, I took care of Phyllis when I worked at Elmwood from June,2005 thru May 2007. She was a lovely lady who I adored!!! My heart sunk when I saw she passed away. Someone I will remember in my heart. So sorry for your loss. I will always remember her. Gloria Laird
