Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday in the W. Ray Watson Chapel of University Baptist Church, Dr. Mark Woods, officiating.
Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be given in Roy's name to the Scottish Rite Hospital or the Texas A&M University Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Roy Russell Hunt Jr. was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Terrell, the son of Roy Russell Hunt Sr. and Malone Evans Wood Hunt. He was raised in Arp, where he graduated from high school. He received his engineering degree from Texas A&M University in 1949 and did graduate work at Texas Christian University. He served as a corporal in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Prior to joining General Dynamics he was with North American Aviation and Montgomery Ward. He was also an instructor in management at Texas Christian University evening college. Roy was a registered professional engineer in Texas and was appointed chairman of Industrial Advisory Committee of Texas State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers in 1968.
He was a member of University Baptist Church since 1952.
He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Amanda Johnston.
Survivors: Wife of 62 years, Eloise Opal Heady Hunt of Fort Worth; daughters, Gloria Allen of Weatherford, Pat Spears and her husband, Bob, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son, Rusty Hunt and his wife, Sherri, of Garland; grandchildren, Donna Johnston and her husband, Cliff, Sandra Orban and her husband, Brian, Charla Allen, Zach Thoms and his wife, Jamie, Hunter Thoms, Patrick Spears, Summer Spears, Jason Spears and his wife, Jamie; and great-grandchildren, Stacey and Stephanie Orban and Colton and Travis Johnston.
