My condolences to the entire Manz family. My memories go way back to growing up in Garfield. My sister "Sissy"(deceased) and I lived across Hillcrest St. from your family. My parents operated Miller's grocery store. I remember all of the Manz family as we went to St. Lawrence school. I also have wonderful memories of Chuck's wife Betty Courtney's family. Back then neighbors took care of each other. I visited Sister Dorothy once. I was quite young but I remember driving to Ohio with someone from your family.
Please know that you are in my prayers.

I was so sorry to hear of Sr. Dorothy's passing. I have fond memories of her time as the principal at St. William School in East Pittsburgh, especially the year when I was in eighth grade (1974-75), and she had recruited me to be the "attendance card collector". I enjoyed many interesting and humorous discussions with her that year as I waited for my thrice daily duty of ringing the school bell (for which I often arrived early just for the opportunity to chat with Sr. Dorothy).
My sympathies are with her family and with the Dominican Sisters who had the priviledge of knowing her. Though I'll be unable to attend the services on Tuesday, I will remember her in my prayers and Mass that day. May she enjoy the rewards promised to all God's faithful servants.
