Dorothy Sadler Obituary

SADLER (WHITAKER) Dorothy E. (Whitaker) Sadler, age 81, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 23, 2006. She was born in Columbus on June 7, 1924 to the late William and Margaret Smith. Dorothy resided at Scioto Community Assisted Living Center. She was a member of East Livingston Baptist Church. Dorothy was employed by the Columbus State Hospital in the 1950's and retired from Ohio State University. She became a volunteer for Easter Seals of Central, OH where she was awarded the highest honor for volunteer work, The Golden Lilly Award in 1998 by Jimmy Crum. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Curtis Neil Whitaker and Joseph E. Sadler, her sisters Norma Jean Needham and Mary Margaret Traeger. Survived by children, Diana (Tom) Fancher, Mary (Gary) Davis, Rollie (Joyce) Whitaker; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dale Traeger; nieces, nephews, cousins and a very faithful and cherished friend, Pat Livingston. Friends and family may call at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., Saturday, February 25, 10-11 AM. The Rev. Peter Mathewson and Rev. George Winters will be officiating her celebration of life at 11 AM. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. We wish to thank all the devoted nurses, dedicated staff members and the wonderful residents of the Scioto Community for their kindness. A special thank you to the amazing support team of Vista Care for their "tender loving care" and their total commitment to our mother in her final days.
