Elaine Schwab Hobart

HOBART Elaine Schwab Hobart slipped gently into the next world in the late evening of December 16, 2010. Preceded in death by her adoring husband Keith Keller Hobart, in March 2008. Mrs. Hobart is remembered by her daughters, Linda Hobart (Dave) Ingham of Minneapolis MN and Cynthia Hobart of Banks OR; and by granddaughters, Monique Savoie (Edwin) Bednar, Michelle Savoie, Sarah Ingham (Olinga) Abbott, and Helen Ingham. She is also survived by great-granddaughter, Emmanuelle Elaine Abbott. Mrs. Hobart was a member of the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) during World War II. After the war, she married Mr. Hobart and they both attended the University of Michigan, he for his JD (law) degree and she for her Bachelors degree. She received her Masters' Degree in Sociology from Ohio State University, and worked on her PhD. She became a professor at Otterbein College in 1968, until the late 1970's, where she was a trusted advisor to many students. Mrs. Hobart was the first faculty advisor for the Soul group at Otterbein. Mr. and Mrs. Hobart moved to Oregon to be close to their daughter, Cynthia.
