Carole & the Darling family,
I worked with John at Pepsi for almost 19 years before leaving in 1995. I just now learned of his passing and I'm very saddened by it. He was a good and decent man and I considered him to be a very good friend. God threw away the mold after He made John. We needed more like him. It was an honor and priviledge to have known him. I'll never forget the day Buster Douglas stopped in the office to see John and he introduced us because he wanted to make sure I got to meet Buster since I was a fan of his. That was John. Always thinking of others. I'll miss you buddy, but look forward to seeing you on the other side someday.

Carole, Dayna (Faith), John Jr., and the Darling Family--

We were saddened by Johnny's departure and, because we love him and all of you, we, too, are grieving. But, we do not grieve as one who has no hope, for our hope is in God, through Jesus Christ who conquered death for us (1 Thessalonians 4). The loss of a loved one is heartbreaking, but during this difficult time, know that God is, He Will, He Can, He Hears, He understands, and He never makes a mistake.

Johnny was a wonderful husband, who truly loved his children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and his family. He, too, was our long-time friend who held a special place in our hearts. We will always remember his inspirational words of wisdom, his contagious smile, his warm spirit, and his genuine kindness. We know that life will never be the same without him, but you have been blessed with a strong family bond, nurtured by love, time spent with each other, and the support of one another. It is these memories that will keep you close in spirit. Because we trust God, we stand on the His Promise that someday we will meet again.

You are in our thoughts, and we are praying that God will continue to comfort, strengthen, and give you inner peace.
