Louis Favret Obituary

FAVRET Mr. Louis M. Favret, 77, of Seabrook Island, S.C., passed away April 11, 2006 at home after an extended illness. He was active in Holy Spirit Parish, Kiawah-Seabrook Exchange Club and taught a class in Economics at John's Island High School. Mr. Louis Favret was an Executive Vice President and Group Executive for Babcock & Wilcox, a subsidiary of J. Ray McDermott & Co. where he worked for 31 years. He was responsible for the Power Generation Unit, and Business Integration while employed by Babcock & Wilcox. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, former Vice Chairman, Atomic Industrial Forum, and recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award, The Ohio State University. Mr. Louis M. Favret is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Favret; his six children, Michele Hufnagel, Dr. Gerald Favret, Diane Kosobud, Richard Favret, Paul Favret and John Favret; 24 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother James Favret and is survived by his remaining brothers and sisters, Bill Favret, Rita Marzolf, Joseph Favret and Joan Wagenbrenner. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Louis M. Favret are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial of the former Monday, April 17, 2006 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, John's Island, officiated by Reverend, Monsignor Martin T. Laughlin, V.G. at Twelve O'Clock (Noon). Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be private. The family will receive visits at home Wednesday, April 19 and the days following. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Services, P.O. Box 607, John's Island, S.C. 29457, or Hospice of Charleston, Inc., 3870 Leeds Ave., Suite 101, Charleston, S.C. 20405, or Holy Spirit Catholic Church "Building Fund", P.O. Box 719, John's Island, S.C. 29457. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting the website, www.jhenrystuhr.com. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., West Ashley Chapel.

To Pat,

Our sincere condolences to your entire family. It was a pleasure to work under Lou for many years. I always knew that he understood the problems of our customers and our industry and was supportive of our efforts in the field offices. I have many good memories of Lou. Our prayers are with you.
