Mary Llaneza Obituary

LLANEZA (Demundo) Mary Constance Llaneza, age 80, beloved wife and mother went home to heaven to be with our Lord, Mary and all of the angels and saints on Monday, May 18, 2009 after a long, courageous battle with cancer and Parkinson's. She was born on October 8, 1928, in Clarksburg, W.Va., daughter of the late Robert and Katherine DeMundo. Loving and caring wife of more than 30 years to the late Paul Llaneza. Mary graduated from St. Mary's High school in Clarksburg, W.Va. When she married, they honeymooned to Columbus and started a family business, Lanz Printing, where she worked long and hard while raising 5 children. She loved going to daily mass while she could and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Survived by family who could not have loved her more; Michael (Julie), Stephen, Catherine, Mercedes (Jack) Zerrienher; son, Vincent, who was her caregiver for more than 5 years; grandchildren, Megan, Christian (Meghan), Steven, Anastasia, Paul, Michael, Richard and Mary who brought her nothing but joy. Although she never got to see her great-grandchild Lily Ann Llaneza, born just a few weeks ago, we know she wanted to spoil her as she did all those around her with her love. The little things meant the most to her, especially spending time with family and friends. She made a positive difference to all she touched. Friends may call TUESDAY, May 19, 2009 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 6-8 p.m. and WEDNESDAY, from 4-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. on THURSDAY, May 21, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 280 N. Grant Avenue. Rev. Fr. Andre-Joseph LaCasse, O.P., Presider. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Oh. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Mary to the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital - Richard J. Solove Research Institute, 300 West Tenth Avenue, Suite 519, Columbus, Oh. 43210. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

As you go through this difficult time, celebrate her life and the wonderful mother that she was knowing that you loved her and cared for her especially in her moments of need. She loved you for that. She is watching down on all of you and her loving ways will continue to show through the family she loved and left behind! Dave and I are praying for your family that you will find strength through this difficult time.

Cathy,
I'm sorry to read about your mother's passing. I remember how devoted she was to her family. It's been many years, but I recall speaking with her several times at different Dispatch work outings. You were certainly a close-knit family and I know God will comfort you with wonderful memories of her. God bless you all today in and in the days ahead.
