Robert H. Lester, aka "Butch," age 77, passed suddenly on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. He was born on June 28, 1940 to the late David and Frances Lester. Member of New Salem Baptist Church; Veteran of United States Air Force; Retired from U. S. Postal Service after 31 years as a Letter Carrier; Other employment with C. D. White & Son Funeral Home and Summit Chase Condominium; Presently employed by Tristar Transportation Co. Preceded in death by his parents and step-parents, David (Eliza) Lester and Frances (William) Palmer. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty; sisters, Karen (John) James and Patricia Ryan; brother, William "Bill" Palmer; grandchildren; many, many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at New Salem Baptist Church, 2956 Cleveland Ave. Visitation 10:30 a.m. and Service to follow at 12:00 noon. Dr. Keith A. Troy, Eulogist. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by C. D. WHITE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1217 Mt. Vernon Ave. 614-258-1514
