Thomas J. Byers Sr.

BYERS Thomas J. Byers Sr. passed away peacefully on April 6, 2012 from complications of cancer. He was born March 6, 1931 to the late Robert and Edna Byers of Columbus, Ohio. He is also preceded in death by grandson Thomas J Byers III, sister-in-law Sue Byers. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, June Byers; his daughter, Janice (Jeffrey) Dicke of St. Louis, MO; his son, Thomas (Ann) of Dublin, OH; grandchildren, Erin (Salvatore) Cusumano, Scott Byers; great-grandchildren, Frankie and Cecilia Cusumano; brothers, Robert (Peg) and Bill Byers. Tom was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. Tom was also retired from Big Bear Stores Company as General Manager of Bakery Operation, and he was a member of New England Lodge #4 F. & AM; 32nd Degree Masons, Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shriners and the Columbus Maennerchor. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 9th at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, where Masonic Service will held at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Match, officiating. Entombment will follow in Union Cemetery.
