Thomas A. Kalinoski

Kalinoski Thomas A. Kalinoski, age 65, of Powell, passed away May 17, 2013 after a courageous battle with an illness. Tom was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Stanley and Catherine Kalinoski. Also preceded in death by beloved daughter Michelle. Tom graduated from Westlake High School, Class of 1966 and Ohio University, Class of 1970 where he earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration specializing in Accounting. Tom worked as an auditor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and then for Anthem Insurance for 35 years. He was a loving, giving, and sentimental man who loved to entertain and to have a good time. Tom had a passion for volunteering and planning fundraising events for various causes. He was an active member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Columbus Beechcroft Lions Club and St. Michael's Athletic Association. Tom was an avid coach and developer of the soccer and CYO basketball programs at St. Michaels and continued to be involved with both programs prior to his passing. In Tom's spare time, some of his interests included playing softball, bowling and watching his horses race. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Cindi; sons, Shane and Zachary (Alison); brothers, Ken (Roz), Denny, Tim, Jim and John (Karen); mother-in-law, Charlotte Maloy; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 N. High St. Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. Father Mark Summers Celebrant. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Columbus Beechcroft Lions Scholarship Fund, c/o Roger Heckel, 1663 Evinrude Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43229 or to the American Cancer Society.
