Wesley Edward Sickles

SICKLES Wesley Edward Sickles, age 84, of Worthington, passed away peacefully February 2, 2012 at the Westminster-Thurber Community in Columbus. Wes was born October 1, 1927 in Chillicothe, Ohio. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1946. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and a graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Wes retired from Nationwide Insurance of Columbus in 1992 where he worked as a Graphic Artist for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his father Royal V. Sickles, his mother Hazel (Annis) Sickles, and his beloved wife Arlene Sickles. He is survived by a large extended family and his cat, Riley, who is enjoying retirement with friends in Arizona. Wes was a kind and gentle man who loved to make people laugh. The depth of love he shared with his wife Arlene was extraordinary. A memorial service will be scheduled for the spring and will take place at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington. Arrangements will be handled by RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME OF WORTHINGTON. A memorial donation in Wes' honor can be made to the Central Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org/centralohio/.
