Alcus Weeks Obituary

Mr. Alcus Weeks

Mr. Alcus Weeks of Samson passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022. He was 90. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Johnny Wiggins, officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson, directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Weeks was born in Geneva County, AL on August 7, 1931, to the late Ed and Gladys Renfroe Weeks. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a poultry farmer for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Merle Weeks; and a brother, Vernell Weeks.

He is survived by his son, James Weeks (Janie) of the Earlytown Community; daughter, Janett Burkett of Samson; three grandchildren, Josh Burkett (Jacquie) of Mobile, Ashley Burkett of Washington, D.C., and Tyler Weeks (Gracie) of the Holley Crossroads Community; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Sadie, Allie, and Kate Burkett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
