Cecil Brown Obituary

A private graveside service for the family will be at Memory Hill Cemetery with Dr. Joseph Johnson officiating.

Mr. Brown was born in Hurtsboro, Ala., to G.W. and Minnie L. Brown. After graduating from high school, Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II. After graduating from the University of Alabama, he worked for the

U.S. Treasury as an Internal Revenue Agent until he retired in 1976. Mr. Brown was a member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Nell H. Brown; his sons, Mike Brown and his wife Drucie of Dothan, Steve Brown and his wife Lisa of Tifton, Ga.; his grandsons, Barrett, Charles, Knox, and Luke; his granddaughter, Caitlin; and several nephews and nieces.

The family is deeply grateful to the members of Wiregrass Hospice for their care.

Ward Wilson Funeral Home, 334-792-4194, is in charge of arrangements.

I attended classes at the U of A with Cecil. I worked with him at IRS for over 33 yrs. I greatly admired and respected him.My prayers for peace and comfort are with the entire family.

Nell: I have good memories of working with Cecil. Also, Janice and I treasure the experiences with Cecil, you, and the boys there in Dothan in the late 1960's
