Glenda Clayton Obituary

Glenda Faye McNeal Clayton, 72, 1415 Beck Road, Pansey, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, March 3, 2009, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Coley Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral directing. The family is at the home.
Born in Houston County, Glenda was a daughter of the late Ralph Eugene and Bessie Vickers McNeal. She attended Wallace Community College and received her associate degree in accounting and was a homemaker. Glenda spent several years as "MaMa" to many girls at the Chrysalis Home for Girls. Mrs. Clayton was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she assisted with the Prime Timers. She also enjoyed her association with the Senior Citizen Group at New Freedom Church in Webb.
Surviving are her husband, J. B. Clayton of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Johnny White, Abbeville, Twila and Mark Dothard, Hayden, Amanda and Jerome Enfinger, Rehobeth; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Mary McNeal, Pansey, Al and Margie Trull, Gordon; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah and Larry Baker, Binghamton, N.Y., Katie and Guy Kay, Buckhead, Ga., Vickey McNeal, Griffin, Ga.; sister-in-law, Betty McNeal, Gordon; a special brother and sister, Thomas and Betty Brightwell, Dothan; five grandchildren, Zach Dothard, Hayden, Justin Enfinger, Katie Enfinger, both of Rehobeth, Chip White, Abbeville, Natalie and Dennis McCord, Cottonwood; one great-grandchild, Taylor McCord, Cottonwood.
Serving as pallbearers will be Zach Dothard, Justin Enfinger, Chip White, Dennis McCord, Jearl McNeal, Dusty Kay and Joe McNeal Jr.
Honorary pallbearer will be Katie Enfinger. Southern Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the Clayton family.
