Thadius Morgan Obituary
Thad Morgan of Enterprise, AL passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Medical Center Enterprise. He was 84.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Performing Arts Center at Enterprise High School with Rev. Perry Vickers and Dr. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ESCC Foundation for the President Matthew D. Rodgers Scholarship, c/o Chellye Stump, P.O. Box 1300, Enterprise, AL 36331.
Mr. Morgan was a well-known and respected educator and coach throughout the area, having started his career in Marietta, GA, then moving on to Villa Rica, GA before coming back to his hometown. Thad then began his career in Alabama in the early 60's at Coffee Springs High School. He became a teacher, coach and finally an administrator with the Enterprise City School System. Thad served as Superintendent of Education in Enterprise and served for 23 years until his retirement in 2002.
Thad was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Estelle Morgan; and a daughter, Cornelia Ann "Bitsy" Morgan.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Morgan; and a son, Bill Morgan, both of Enterprise, AL; numerous cousins; and a host of friends and educators.
