Anne Diehl Nov 19, 1918 ~ Mar 24, 2012 Resident of Sonora, CA Former Resident of Danville, CA Anne Diehl born in Lakewood, Ohio passed away in Sonora, CA on March 24, 2012. She is survived by her daughter Debbie Colston of Sonora, CA, son B. J. Diehl of Alamo, CA, grandchildren Natalie McCarty and Jimmy Diehl, and great granddaughter Aubrey McCarty. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, the majority in Ohio. Raised in Lakewood, Ohio, Anne met her husband Bill and married May 2nd 1942. Bill, while serving in the US Navy, fell in love with the San Ramon Valley and moved his family to Walnut Creek, Alamo, then Danville. Anne brought up her 3 children, losing her oldest daughter to cancer at age 27, with Bill supporting the family as an Architect throughout the 1950's and 1960's. Anne managed Bill's business and worked a number of years for Bernard of Vienna, a European Antique dealer in Walnut Creek. By the early 1970's Anne and Bill moved to Sonora, CA to seek a slower pace and eventual retirement. Anne will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her kind spirit, many friends, and charming sense of humor. There will be a memorial service in Sonora, yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations in Anne's name may be made to your favorite charity.
