Helen Hall Obituary

Helen Jeanette Hall Helen Jeanette Hall passed away October 19, 2005 in Martinez. The Hall family matriarch lived independently for 88 of her 89 years, the past 52 years in her home in Pleasant Hill. Born Helen Brown in 1916 in Wabasha MN, Helen attended the Minnesota School of Business. She moved to Dayton, OH where she met her husband of 35 years, Frank B. Hall, Jr., (deceased 1991). The Halls moved to California in 1953. In 1959 Helen and Frank founded the North Pleasant Hill News Agency, a business that remained continually in the Hall Family. Loved by her children: sons, Frank III, John and William Hall, and daughter Dr. Nancy (Hall) Whitman; daughter-in-law Sandra (Frank) and the one and only son-in-law, Ron Whitman. Beloved Grandmother of: Kate (Hall) Stephens, Allyson (Hall) Funk, Cody Hall, Janene Sides and Michael Nicol. Revered Great Grandmother of: Tyler and Kaylie Stephens, Robby Christina and Daniel Rusca, Cameron Funk, and Madisen Nicol. She is survived by her sister Nancy Curry of Oregon and a brother, David Brown of Arizona. Family came first with her. She was an active participant in all phases of her offspring's lives. She promoted education and was always serving and accommodating others. Helen Hall was loved by many and her spirit will always reside within our hearts. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 5 at the 1st Congregational Church in Martinez at the corner of Court & Susana Streets. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association, Contra Costa Chapter, P.O. Box 6181, Concord, CA 94524-1081.
