Jack Erwin Warner, 94, of Orinda, CA died in his sleep on April 1. Jack was a retired meat grader who received multiple decorations from the United States Department of Agriculture. He lived in Orinda for 60 years and was a native of Seattle, Washington. An avid hunter and fisherman, he instilled a love of the outdoors in his four sons. Jack enjoyed music and learned to play the piano and banjo by ear. He knew most of the songs from the 30's and 40's and even sang to the staff at the Rheem Valley Convalescent Hospital where he lived for the last eight years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jean Haines Warner in 2003. He is survived by four sons; Michael (Nancy), Lawrence (Jean), Randall (Elizabeth) and Clifford (Anne), ten grandchildren Douglas, Gregory, Stacey, Shannon, Tyler, Ross, Emily, Thomas, Jacky Cole and Betsy Kidd as well as four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Diabetes Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Rheem Valley Convalescent Hospital for their care and compassion during the past eight years.
Private family services will be held at a future time.
