Kenneth L. Charles, age 73, of Pittsburg, CA, died on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
Ken was born in Seattle, WA on September 23, 1944, to Roy and Marion Charles. He attended Ingraham High School in Seattle before enrolling in Los Medanos College. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later worked as a hardware store manager. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Ken loved the Seattle Seahawks, NASCAR racing, and spending time with other veterans.
Preceded in death by his son Kevin, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Charles; daughter Krystal Elghanayan; daughter Jodie Yorg and son in law Michael Yorg; and grandchildren Ella, Seth, Rosie, Ana, and Matthew. He is also remembered with love by his Japanese family Noriko, Satoshi, Amy, and Shoki.
Services will be held on Friday, October 5, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Concord Veterans Center.
