Robert Montgomery Obituary

ROBERT S. MONTGOMERY SR. NOVEMBER 3, 1941 - JUNE 26, 2004 Bob Montgomery died after a long battle with lung cancer. He was a longtime resident of Fremont who retired from Owens Brockway Glass. Bob was a horse race enthusiast, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling (bowling a 300 game in 1970). Bob is survived by his sister Mary (Ralph) Russell of Utah, and his brother Bill (Debbie) Montgomery of Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Montgomery and Lee (Montgomery) Goodrich, and his brother Jeff Montgomery. Bob leaves behind his children, Sherry (James) Rodrigues of San Ramon, Robert Montgomery Jr of Fremont, Lisa (John) Boland of New Ipswich, N.H., and Rikki (Brett) Lucas of Fremont. Bob will be missed by his 8 grandchildren, family and friends, in particular, Lela Leming of Jamestown, Calif., who was the special lady in his life. A memorial service will be held at the Epiphany Lutheran Church, 16248 Carolyn Drive, San Leandro on Thursday, July 1st, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting a donation be made to the American Cancer Society, or to your favorite charity.
