Beatrice Alberta "Bea" Mast, 87, of Goshen, Indiana passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at Majestic Care of Goshen.
Bea, or "Aunt Bea" as she was affectionately known by many, was born March 29, 1934, to the late Nicholas and Nettie (Davis) Blodgett.
Her first marriage was to Charles Kyle and together they had two children: Lisa and Charles "Butch" Kyle. In 1969, Bea married Melvin Mast in Bristol, Indiana, and became the stepmother to Annette Mast and Terry Mast.
The Masts made their home in Middlebury, Indiana, for many years before moving to their retirement home in Howe, Indiana. Bea and Melvin celebrated 36 years of marriage before he passed away in 2005.
Surviving are her daughter Lisa Hernley and her husband Jeff of Milford, Indiana, her stepdaughter Annette Mast, her stepson Terry Mast and his wife Tammy of Niles, Michigan, her daughter-in-law Kim Kyle of Kannapolis, North Carolina, six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Her son, Charles "Butch" Kyle and all her siblings all preceded her in death as well.
Following Bea's wishes, there will be no services at this time. Cruz Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Osceola has been entrusted with her care.
Bea was employed in her younger years at the family doctor's office in Bristol before becoming a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, gardening and fishing. She was also a longtime member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Goshen where she sang in the choir.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association online at www.alz.org, or Goshen Home Care and Hospice at www.GoshenHealth.com.

I am sorry for your loss. I am a total stranger as I did not know Beatrice personally, but what drew me to her is her maiden name, Blodgett. It so happens that the two of us, Beatrice and myself descend from the same immigrant Blodgett ancestor and are seventh cousins and a seventh cousin, once removed, to you Lisa Hernley. I know it sounds silly, but I am a family researcher and interested in the connections I find. What makes this family even more interesting is the fact that I am a sixth cousin to Terry Mast thru his connection to the Plank Family. This may not be the proper place to discuss this but I have no other means of contacting Lisa Hernley or Terry Mast. If anyone is interested I have much information on both the Blodgett and Plank family I am willing to share. I may be reached at 757-486-4705 of [email protected]. Again, you have my condolences.
